1 - You have to be sent by Parole, DOC, County Prosecutor's Office or AG's Office. How they run their selection process is up to those agencies. 2 - PT wise it's very class dependent and they do it differently then other academies. All depends on how much the department pushes. I saw a guy who was CIA Police get hired by a county prosecutor's office and get waived.

My agency got someone through the process and into the academy in a week. Timing is always a factor as well as the background of the person.

Every CO I have known has never been Monday thru Friday. Usually will take a couple of years (at least) to get even part of the weekend. Also don't know of any that are only 4 days a week. Most I've known have been 8x5 with Tuesday/Wednesday or Wednesday/Thursday off.

If you already have a cert, they will waive you and you'll only be there for whatever PTC determines you need. You would sit in the back of the class and not participate in PT.

Wow that's a pretty small class. You'll probably lose some after the first PT test.
