Police Officer - Pre-certified
The University of Delaware
Newark, Delaware

Deadline: November 15, 2018

The University of Delaware Police Department is accepting applications for certified police officers to provide law enforcement services to the University community. This position will work a rotating shift with varied days off. We are located halfway between Washington, DC and New York and we offer a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, cost of uniforms, and tuition remission for eligible employees and their dependents. Starting salary is $51,500. Police Officers hired with DE COPT certification (or other federal/state certification recognized as equivalent to DE COPT) and a minimum of nine years of experience are eligible to request, and may be eligible for, advancement to Corporal one year after their date of hire.

All applicants must submit a resume and current e-mail address with their on-line application; applicants will then receive further information and instructions regarding the process from the UD Police Department. If hired, non-Delaware certified officers may need to complete additional training to meet Delaware COPT standards.
