Has anyone had any luck with this process yet? I know there was plenty of competition.

Although Monmouth had it listed in the announcement, they did not do a good job after the test of making it clear that the May of 2018 test was for 2019. The results are not supposed to be used until January 1, 2019, from the May testing.
The alternate route process is proceeding with candidates going through the process for the next 2019 class(es).
As expected, no shortage of the top scoring candidates in Monmouth have already accepted slots in other academies or been hired by departments in other counties.

The Monmouth County Police Chiefs Association has set the testing dates for the 2019 exam.
The registration portal can be found at: ... sociation/
(look toward the bottom of the page)

Currently, candidates can register for any of the following dates:

Monday, May 20th, 2019 6 p.m.
Tuesday, May 21st, 2019 6 p.m.
Wednesday, May 22nd, 2019 6 p.m.

It is very likely that these date will fill up (close out) and additional dates will need to be added (as was done in 2018). The scores from the 2018 testing are good through the remainder of this year, so this upcoming testing is for 2020 hiring and the selection of alternate route candidates for 2020 academy classes.
