Re: Next academy class start date ?

Medical was longer for me than other candidates due to medical staff not being able to find my veins. I was stabbed 17 times and admitted to the hospital before someone finally was able to get blood. They make you do pee, simple vision testing, and a quick physical. Prob about 4-5 hours long. They ...

Re: Best police schedule

I've done 8's with 5x2, 10's with 4x3 and now a modified pitman with 10.5 hour shifts. I love the pitman I have now but not sure how I would feel about it if I was working 12 hours shifts.

Re: 2019-2020 LEE EXAM RESULTS

If anyone is wondering what the NJDOC academy will be like here’s a video. https://youtu.be/irSC4oYc3mU Police academy is similar just a few different things and not as bitter . But this pretty much sums it up so yeah, thought I’d share. Depends where you go. I've done both Sea Girt and Monmouth Co...

Re: 2019-2020 LEE EXAM RESULTS

I received certs from Asbury Park (#45) and Freehold Twp. (#70) Congrats!! That is amazing. Would you take either or are you hoping for one specifically? But looks like it might be some time before I get any certs. It doesn't really matter to me. Freehold is closer and pays more, ideally I would li...

Re: Retirements

My PD has about 15 that are eligible to retire within the next 1-2 years. Most of them were planning on sticking around for a few years past that but now they're pulling the plug. You'll see a lot of people putting in their papers early. Hell I got three years in and thinking about doing 20 and out.

Re: 2019-2020 LEE EXAM RESULTS

This question was posted already but I couldn't find it on the thread. If I got a cert from a county and it said "all departments" I'm assuming that means I am ranked for any municipal department within that specific county correct? If I change address into a different county, am I still eligible w...

Re: 2019-2020 LEE EXAM RESULTS

It’s not a shit show whatsoever. The job requires commitment, dedication, sacrifice, confidence, knowledge, and precision, and in times like this, we need to be as optimistic as possible, and be on point with everything. We know what the job entails going in. And as long as you know you’re doing th...

Re: 2019-2020 LEE EXAM RESULTS

That is incorrect information. 30 years for 65%, but you can still do a special retirement at 25 years for 60%. Really? Is this regardless if you’re in PERS or PFRS This is in regards to PFRS. I am not 100% sure about PERS. PERS probably will be gone within the next decade. Who knows if any pension...

PERS is also 30 years to max but you can’t collect till 65y/o.
Which is the one for people who get hired at 35 or older? Is that PERS
Yes, PERS
