The whole idea of the written test is to see if you’re lying / fit for duty. If your answers don’t add up, the psyc will grill you on it. If the interview is short and easy, that’s good.

Went to the academy with a bunch of guys that sent them through. They all love it. Academy pay is in the 50s and I believe starting is 60 something. Top out isn’t great in the 90s but a ton of OT available
