I applied something like 6 years ago, the guy were joking with the dispatchers about starting soon. I usually don't join in the "this is a scam" crowd, but this was a rough one
Way too many towns pull the ole Jersey hustle.

Re: Advice

Don't rule out feds / NYPD, IMO. I got far in a few processes in NJ but could never close the deal, but I landed an 1895 federal LEO gig and have an offer on the table for a few NYPD positions. Not saying that you can't do it in NJ, I just feel like NY and the feds don't play as many games as they d...

Fletc cert qualify NJPTC standards?

Does anyone know how one would find out if their federal cert would satisfy the NJPTC? Does anyone know of an email address / phone number / fax that is public that one can contact to inquire about this question? I know NJ is notorious for rejecting out of state certs, but I thought that maybe a fed...

Re: Appealing psych results

You can only appeal civil service psychs; Chief's towns / Alt Route don't let you appeal.

Re: Mercer County Alternate Route Program

I scored (tied) for #5 myself, but as I've encountered in the past, scores mean nothing for chiefs / alt route. As long as someone passes they can select them for candidacy.

Re: Rutgers University PD Hiring 2018

Had my chiefs interview 2 weeks ago (or so). Haven't heard anything since, but they were interviewing a lot of people that day (I saw 4 other people in the 1.5 hours I was there. You can always email the BI (they provided his email in the packet) and ask if they're doing another round.

Re: Mercer County Alternate Route Program

I'm working off the assumption that they moved on with a select few candidates. The only other academy that was this quiet for so long was Essex.

anyone know how many they are expecting on hiring?
2-4 would be my guess. I know it's more than 1, but being a small town department, I cant imagine them flooding their ranks with rookies. I was told "a few".
