FULL-TIME POLICE DISPATCHER-BOONTON TOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Public Safety Telecommunicator Trainee (dispatcher) position is responsible for responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching police units or other town service personnel, sending and receiving information to various agencies and departments, monitoring radios and cameras, maintaining a database and other duties as necessary. Requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, innovative thinking and the ability to remain focused under pressure. All applicants must be able to work rotating shifts and holidays. Position requires a HS diploma or GED certification, a valid NJ driver's license with an excellent driving record, and must pass a criminal background check, medical exam, and drug test.

Starting salary is $30,639 and includes other benefits outlined in the current collective bargaining contract.

The Town of Boonton is not dispatched by the County. Boonton Township is dispatched by the County. Boonton and Boonton Township are two separate towns. However, there have been talks about the Town of Boonton going over to the County but nothing set in stone.
