Dispatcher Openings/South Plainfield Police Department

The South Plainfield Police Department is accepting applications for Per-Diem Police Dispatcher. The following are the minimum requirements for applicants:
-Must be at least 18 years of age
-Must have a High School diploma or equivalent
-Must be certified in 9-1-1, EMD, and CPR
-Must pass a background check and a computerized Dispatch test
-Must be able to multi-task while using Police, Fire, and EMS radios, telephones and computers
-Must be able to work on an as needed basis to fill vacant shifts including nights, weekends, holidays
-Prior experience in Emergency Dispatching preferred but not required
-Prior knowledge of NCIC, CJIS, and AOC preferred but not required
The current Per-Diem Dispatcher hourly rate is $20.77 while in training. Once training is completed the rate goes to $29.07 per/hr. Applicants can pick up an application at the South Plainfield Police Department Dispatch window or go to the Borough of South Plainfield web page (http://www.southplainfieldnj.com/spnj/), click on the Police tab then click on forms and print the Communications Operator Application.
