Switching from Police to Parole

Do you think it’s worth it to switch from municipal to parole?

Depends if you rather work behind a desk and cuddle parolees or do police work.

Depends on a ton of variables. Parole is more leaned in the direction of social work than police work. It’s about 80/20.

A lot is gonna depend on what you want out of your career and what your current setup is, eg pay, schedule, commute, etc.

If you go to Parole, you’re going to be working in a north office for at least the first 6-8 months. That could mean a two hour drive that no one will pity you for.

Prob the biggest perk is that you can make your own schedule to some extent to be flexible to the needs of seeing your parolees. You also generally work Monday through Friday which I’d imagine you don’t have at your PD.
