Information on Departments for Interviews

Post by NLamendola1995 »

Just curious what you guys do to find information on different police Department’s for interviews. Obviously utilize the department websites but a lot of them don’t really have much info especially the smaller departments aside from how many officers, a few programs they run, and the mission statement.

Do you guys use any other methods to get a good grasp on the background of the department you’re interviewing with?

Just remember - the most important part is what you know about the jurisdiction you plan to serve. Wikipedia is a huge favorite of mine they have a lot of information about towns.

A good website to use for demographic info is censusreporter. Get to have all type of info, sq mileage of the town, race break down, and so fourth. Also look into the school website for that given municipality and know how many schools they have. Portray your interest for that municipality by being well versed in numerous different things about the town. The more information the better.
