I really would like to get hire with Sheriff department. Passaic county. What are my chances?
You might get a cert from corrections later down the line. As far as being a sheriff goes, I have no idea.

they only hire residents, they never go to the county list
Does Paterson pd calls everybody on their residential list or no

They need a lot of officers. Their PD is a revolving door so i would say as long as you passed, you will eventually get a cert from them before the list expires in 05/2022.

Depends if you live in a civil service town. If not then hope for corrections or sheriff.

I don’t think they should wait ... I feel like they should at lease start the background checks and interview with potential officers.
True. But the first step is normally the PQT which is done in big groups of certified candidates. Don’t see how they’d do that with the social distancing standards. Certainly wouldn’t wave that.
I don’t think we have to do PQT in Essex county . I will have to double check that but I’m like 90% sure we don’t have to do that.

Only state police holds a PQT, never heard of a local department doing that, unless it’s a chiefs test.
