As of now i only got 1 certification Essex County Department of Corrections. I am a Newark Resident, I scored a 97.180 non-vet, do you guys think i have a shot with any other Depts?
Essex county always hires. You should be good. With this going on is the waiting game.
Honestly, my goal is the Essex County Sheriffs. But I will consider other municipalities as well. When i took the test, i had the sheriffs in mind lol. Ill just keep my fingers crossed and hope everything plays out in my favor. Thank you for responding!

It depends what town that is for. All because you are 64 does not mean anything if it is for a large PD ( small PD and you are 64, it will take some time). There are ppl who take the civil and have felonies or crazy backgrounds. You will be surprised how quickly they DQ ppl and move on the list.

Thanks, that’s definitely true. Gives me some more hope. But my driving record isn’t the best, I’ll say that with all honesty. I don’t have any DUIs or anything serious, but I do have a couple accidents. just hope I can get an opportunity.

If it’s accidents only , you’ll be fine , it’s all about the time since your last moving violations

Not 100% sure what you’re asking but I think what you’re getting at is how do vets vs non vets rank. Vets are ranked above non vets regardless of passing score. So a vet with a 70 is better than a non vet with a 99.99. And to mention disabled vets, they even get preference over regular vets.

So would us vets get more certs before non vets that scored higher than us?
