Has anyone been to a board orientation? I don't know what to expect since I have mine this Monday with Roselle PD.

You mean an interview? know about the town, do your research on different events and areas-make yourself stand out with information other people might not bother to look up. Have a personality, people within the department are looking to hire someone that will fit well-not just a robot.

Exactly, know the demographic, the chiefs names, mayors name, schools, crime rate, your goals within the department, stuff like that. Don't forget to come up with a good strengths and weakness. I am sure they will ask you that.intense1 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 16, 2020 9:17 am You mean an interview? know about the town, do your research on different events and areas-make yourself stand out with information other people might not bother to look up. Dang, do you know how many they typically they normally put through an academy? They are one of the few Sheriffs departments that actually get some movement from my understanding. Good luck man, i hope you hear something soon, cause that means I probably will too lol

They actually didn't do none of that. Straight to the point asking for the documents to bring from the letter they sent , wrote an essay, told us better be in shape before going to the academy, told us the pay scale, when to return the packet, and that they were looking to hire only four officers . Also they aren't too sure if it will start in March or jan.ChickenMan1 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 16, 2020 2:10 pmExactly, know the demographic, the chiefs names, mayors name, schools, crime rate, your goals within the department, stuff like that. Oh that’s orientation then. In the later phases for your personal interview you will probably have to know that stuff.
