Did you attacthed a resume to your letter.Cityairbender06 wrote: ↑Sat May 23, 2020 1:17 pmI sent mine out hand written, I didn't sign it since the instruction didn't day sign with signature.rd589860 wrote: ↑Sat May 23, 2020 12:59 pmsomeone mentioned it early and tbh i thought it would be crazy that you'd have to hand write a letter for a job in 2020 but hey better safe to ask then to assume.Avaric3 wrote: ↑Sat May 23, 2020 10:01 am Accepting certs will not impact your eligibility with other hiring agencies. However, not responding to a cert, even if you are not interested COULD remove you from all eligible pools. A lot of times it wont matter if you don’t reply to something but other agencies will remove you from the eligible pool completely for not replying at all. So moral of the story is ALWAYS reply to a cert.
Idk where anyone is getting the handwritten thing from. I’ve always replied to certs in a typed up letter and left space for it to be printed and signed by myself at the bottom. I then would mail it in (preferably certified mail that way you can track it and there is evidence you sent something to them in case it is not received)

Do not hand write your letter, definitely sign the letter by your name after printing it out and yes, attach a resume.rabbi wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2020 4:42 amOkay thanks, good luck.
Google how to format a formal letter and use that to help format your response.
Simply state your interest and list out the required information.
I would respond to any and all certs, unless you legitimately don’t want to do corrections but even then I would just defer. If you fail to respond to a municipal police job, you will not got any other cert for municipal police.
Don’t do anything that seems like it’s not a good idea, aka hand writing your letter or not responding to a cert for some reason.

I already responded in a hand written letter. Can't go undoing a response and say hold up let me type it up and accept that one instead. The important thing is responding back .MerpNJ555 wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2020 8:04 amDo not hand write your letter, definitely sign the letter by your name after printing it out and yes, attach a resume.

Just giving advice for future reference, I know the process isn’t very straight forward. Many agencies are hesitant to deviate from the list rankings no matter how impressive your response/resume/interviews etc because they don’t want to deal with lawsuits.... unless you have some issues in your background. So there’s a very good chance you’ll be perfectly fine. Just for future reference you want to do everything you can to make yourself appear more professional.

I appreciate the tips.the next cert that comes in I'll type it up and sign.the instructions need to be updated so there isn't different interpretation on the correct way to respond .
