Appealing psych

Post by 65168 » Thu May 02, 2019 4:53 pm

Has anyone failed their psych and had to appeal it?
If so how did you go about appealing it and what was the outcome.
Thank you

Did you get a letter saying you failed?

I was already scheduled for phase 4 physical on 11/26 at 7am. I had my psych oral on the 21st. Next morning I got a cancellation email from NJDOC. I did not get the official letter yet, but obviously the psychologist failed me. I was in pretty good shape and did 99.999 on the test. I am still in shock, but definitely will do appeal. Anybody had an appeal before?

I just did psych today, and unfortunately I didn’t come out feeling too confident.. so we’ll see what comes my way in the next few days. Hoping I don’t get the email to move forward, take the day off and travel, then get a follow up saying I got removed from the list because of psych.. it’s putting a stresser on the job I have now that I need to keep in the event this doesn’t pan out.

Why did you not feel confident on your psych today ? What are they looking for in your answers? What did they ask?

I had a bad feeling too...For me it seemed she
wanted to fail me. I assume she had problem with my “drinking”. I am a social drinker have a drink once in a while. But she was pushing it like I was a raging alcoholic. I was honest about everything and she failed me. Also be careful what you answers for depression or anxiety... I had a bit in 2015 and was honest about it. Mistake. I know nobody ever had it here...

Just the off feeling I had leaving. Maybe it was their tactics to pry info from me that may not have been true to see if I’ll agree to it. Idk. But unfortunately I was asked not to talk about the process much or the questions. In the event I do move forward I don’t want me posting about it being frowned upon.

You are correct....as we cannot reveal what we are being asked in the psych evaluation i feel everyone is asked different questions.....I’m sure everything was just fine....keeping fingers crossed...good luck
