Career advancement for CO after a year of service. What lies for those

Post by evodopeboy » Wed Mar 04, 2020 4:14 pm

Good afternoon Corrections/law-enforcement community. I have the following question: What career advancement do you have after one year of service as an state correctional officer?
Am being told as working for the state you are already in the state network, which gives you the ability for one to move into another state job? Also I was also advise that if you complete a year as a State CO you can apply to custom without having a college degree? Lastly, What lays for those who work for corrections and have successfully completed a year of service. Am currently in phase 3 from my process.

Are all the statements listed above true? What addition can we add/remove to the statement above.

Please advise and thank you all in advance for your replies.

EVO-

Thank you all in advance.

Outside of a lateral Transfer to a county Sheriffs dept, NOT MUCH. It will simply give you experience and 1 year experience is just a drop in the bucket, your still a new jack.
