I mean they are correct in saying that you have to be on their civil service list to be hired and then waived. They won't just pick you up off the street because you're a 2.

Not all Sheriff Offices do that "Sheriff Investigator" thing. I was with a Sheriff's Office and that wasn't a thing there.

Not all sheriff’s offices do that and even the ones that do, you’re still not getting hired as a sheriff’s investigator unless you know people very high up as they are appointed by the sheriff. People need to remember that possible and plausible are completely different when giving advice.
