Becoming an officer
Becoming an officer
Im trying to become a police officer but everytime i try to file the requirements say must have 60 college credits i dropped out and only accumulated 25 credits does anyone know of how i can get 34 credits quick? Or are there other ways to go about the whole process ? Any help would be greatly appreciated thx
Re: Becoming an officer
There are a ton of ways to do it, I will list a few;
1. Join the military.
2. Take the Civil Service Commissions test (Most Title 40 require college to just apply).
3. Become a SLEO II (Special Law Enforcement Officer).
4. Graduate with a degree.
5. Find a department that doesn't require college.
6. Leave NJ.

Re: Becoming an officer
The best way to rack up college credits quick is to take a CLEP exam. When i started to try and get a job I was about 10 or so credits shy of 60. I took two online summer classes (short in duration) and took at least one CLEP exam which brought me to 61 credits. After a year of persistence, I got accepted to two different alternate route programs. I went with the academy that had the closer start date and never looked back. Best of luck man!
STAY HUMBLE.
