I received an email from the NJSP Selection Process Unit advising of the update of Class 159.

I’m sure I’m not the only one to have received this email. I’m confident in saying nearly 1,500 other potential candidates received this email today.

For those who do not know what email I’m talking about this is the email:

Dear Applicant:

On behalf of the New Jersey State Police, I am pleased to inform that you have been selected to continue in the current selection process for the 159th New Jersey State Police Class, tentatively scheduled to commence on January 28, 2019.

*IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN MOVING FORWARD, PLEASE RESPOND NO LATER THEN CLOSE OF BUSINESS BY WEDNESDAY, APRIL 18, 2018, AND FOLLOW THE REMAINING INSTRUCTIONS AND DEADLINES LISTED BELOW. IF YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED IN MOVING FORWARD AND WANT TO REMAIN IN THE POOL FOR THE 160TH CLASS, PLEASE RESPOND NO LATER THEN CLOSE OF BUSINESS BY WEDNESDAY, APRIL 18, 2018.*

The Background Investigation Questionnaire (BIQ) and required documents will be mailed and must be returned to the Selection Process Unit, postmarked no later than May 7, 2018, even if you are unable to obtain ALL the required documents.

Attached is the "Request for Military Records" form that must be filled out by EVERY applicant regardless whether you served in the military or not reference question #47a in your BIQ. Read all the instructions, fill out the highlighted portions and fax to the number provided and retain a copy for your records.

Also attached is the BIQ Seminar information. There will be only one seminar scheduled for Monday, April 30, 2018 from 7pm - 9pm at Division Headquarters (1040 River Road West Trenton, NJ 08628). Please see the insert for further details and instructions.

they must be doing it batches, I received my packet via mail mid March and it was due March 26th. still havent heard back yet though since.

Still no word back? Few buddies of mine sent their background packets in and haven’t heard a word still. Wondering if that’s normal or if they got the ol boot.

My investigator recently submitted my background on June 8th 2018. Any idea when they expect to start conducting the oral board?

Mine submitted mine about 2 weeks ago give it take a few days and I had my interview Tuesday. So expect to be called sometime very soon

Now that conditional offers went out for Class 159, does anyone have an idea on when they will be moving on with Class 160?
