Don’t take this the wrong way, please.. but how did someone that scored an 87 get there phase 4 before the many others that have scored and ranked higher like myself.

Are you perhaps a vet? Because that would make complete sense. I scored 99.7 and ranked 0079, I’m being patient, just want a few hints lol. And you did indeed take this past 2019 test for Njdoc in April not the one in 2016?

NJSP and 118 was in the class
Was njsp one of your choices for placement? I’m wondering if they actually try to place you close to home or at one if your choices
Yes it was one of my choices, but doesn’t always work that way. We have some people that live up north and work at NJSP

I'm not offended no worries yes I took the test In April of this year I am not a veteran. I have worked as a correction officer 4 years on county level that probably factors into it.

I'm pretty sure they consider everything when hiring, experience, college, ect. Not just test score

The discrepency is they are currently working off of two lists, one from the most current test and one from a few years ago. How they get away with that I have know idea.

They hire according to rank. If your background is crappy then you might get nixxed but rank has a lot to do with it. It might look good that you have prior Correctional experience but in the eyes of civil service, it means nothing, to the DOC it may help you pass the background quicker and easier.

Ok so I took the test in April ranked nowhere near the top but I'm in phase 4 not because of experience....that makes no sense tho
