I’m Going for mine Thursday at 11:30. It requires bloodwork and is approx 5 hours long. I’ll keep everyone posted about the process and all. They check your cholesterol and blood pressure etc to see if your healthy for academy!
And thank you all! You’re making my day, I can’t wait to conquer sea Girt together, team work is invincible especially in times like these!

Alysha,

That’s awesome 😎 congratulations on your progress. Did you go for your medical yet?
Lastly did they provide you with any information in regards to the academy starting date? Would it be online?
Please advise.

May you continue to thrive Alysha!
Thank you love, so far it’s just “mid-August” and date to be announced. I’m thinking literally mid August (15th-16th) because they’re veryyyyy literal.

Alysha,

Your welcome ma’am!

Hard work will pay off.

I received my medical as well. Mines is on Thursday July 30th.

The ball in finally moving NJDOC! I can’t wait to join you all on this process of becoming a officer.

Could anyone answer if BMI is a concern during medical? My vitals and pressure are always on point but I’m 5’0” and my BMI much like most people I know says like overweight or obese As my perfect BMI is supposed to be 120lbs, however, we’re far from that. I bulked about a month ago prepping for academy and now I’m considering dropping 5 lbs of water weight before Thursday for weigh in if it’s seriously a concern cause then my BMI should go down.
Thanks for the inputs in advance.

Medical was longer for me than other candidates due to medical staff not being able to find my veins. I was stabbed 17 times and admitted to the hospital before someone finally was able to get blood. They make you do pee, simple vision testing, and a quick physical. Prob about 4-5 hours long.

They start with bloodwork so people can eat after. I have bad veins and wasn’t going to get disqualified because they couldn’t get my blood.
